Ward Conference!

On Monday, to celebrate with a missionary that was getting
transferred, we went to Pizza Hut. I don't think I have eaten there
for many years (if ever). Later that day, I tried a recipe I had for
eggnog. It was alright, but I'm sure there are better recipes. On
Tuesday morning, our Ward Mission Leader inspected our apartment.
After visiting people with one of the Ward Missionaries and having
lunch with him at Chick-Fil-A, we went and picked up the Currituck
elders and brought them to Elizabeth City to pick up their car, which
finally got done being repaired from the accident at the end of
October. After a short exchange, where the District Leader came with
me in Elizabeth City, we went and gave one of our members a blessing.
On Wednesday, we did some finding at Elizabeth City State University,
then for lunch we experimented around with poaching eggs. After that
we began teaching a referral. We were then called by the Bishop to go
to the hospital and give a blessing to a less-active member that was
admitted to the intensive care unit. She seems to be recovering. Later
that night, we went to the Elders Quorum President's house and helped
with some computer troubles. On Thursday morning, I gave myself what
will be the last haircut of my mission. Later that night, we had a
really good run-in with a seemingly homeless man. I hope we helped to
bring him a little happiness. On Friday, evening, we had bear roast
for dinner. For my first time trying bear, it was quite good. The same
member have me sweet potatoes and a couple pie recipes to try out (as
I asked for a good recipe). On Saturday, we had a good lesson with our
new Haitian investigator. He already considers himself a member. He is
learning fast and understanding well, considering he has only had six
months of English study. We also set him for baptism on February 25th.
After that we did some service for a less-active. We helped him build
a shelf and dog-pen to go in his back shed. On Sunday, we had Ward
Conference. The theme was centered on temples. The Stake President
gave a great talk and a very good lesson on ancient and modern temples
and talked about symbolism within temples. This week has been pretty
good. We have had several really good lessons. I hope you all have a
wonderful week! Don't forget to include the Lord!
