Another Day, Another Year!

Last Monday, we spent a large part of the day with one of the members from Currituck, who owns an insurance company and took both us and the Currituck elders to email at his office, have lunch with him, and go shopping. That night, at our usual Monday dinner appointment, I backed-up the data from their laptop that has been having issues for quite a while. On Tuesday evening, we went and gave a blessing to a member that is going through several trials of health. On Wednesday morning we spent a good bit of time using a shop vacuum that a member lent us to vacuum the glass that came off of our cars window when it was shattered. That was quite a task, as the glass made it to every part of the inside of the car. Later that day, we went and helped a member to lay down a temporary sheet of linoleum in their kitchen That was quite the task. After that project and dinner, I did some computer work, installing Ubuntu Linux on one of their laptops. On Thursday morning, we had a district meeting at our apartment. In the middle of that, the guy came and replaced our car window. That only took 10 or so minutes. That night, we helped a recent convert with some family history. We helped connect him to his ancestors that have already had work done. He was surprised to find that he has several lines that go back to royalty. On Friday morning, we helped the same person rake a whole lot of leaves from his back yard and garden. He then let us have some fresh roman onions. On Saturday we had several good teaching and finding experiences. That night we had to go in early, as it was New Years Eve. There was even more noise outside than usual. On Sunday, a lady came to church that came to church in Currituck while I was there. Her husband knows a lot of the members that work in the Coast Guard. After Gospel Doctrine, we had a very good talk with her. She has been feeling somewhat hopeless and is wanting to get her life and family on track. We will hopefully be able to start teaching her. We also had a really good lesson with a less-active family on Sunday evening. This week has been really good. I hope you all have a wonderful new year!
