Late Night
Last Monday we got together with the Elizabeth City elders and went bowling. It was alright. I started off doing really well, but that kinda slackened. After we did some shopping and headed home, I watched "The Testaments". That is an excellent movie. I would recommend it to anyone. That night we went fishing with the same member as we did the week before. I caught a Blue Gill, providing half of a chicken nuggets worth of meat. My companion caught a nice sized Bass (over a foot long). On Tuesday we cooked the fish up. It was pretty good. That day, I also got a package from home. On Wednesday, after a lesson with one of our members, we made Zucchini Fritters and Cinnamon Fritters, with recipes the member couple gave us. On Thursday I gave myself a much needed haircut. That day, we also had our District Meeting. For our potluck, we did breakfast-for-lunch. That day, I went on exchanges with our Zone Leaders. Our day was filled with lots of driving, giving and elder a blessing, a baptismal interview, and other logistics of a Zone Leader. On Friday, after getting back to Currituck, we all headed to Frog Island for lunch. Aside from my usual frog-leg dinner, I got some alligator bites. They were very good, and a first for me. That same day, I got permission from my Mission President to read Church History. On Saturday, I read the King Follett Sermon from Volume Six of Church History. It was very good. That day, we headed up to a baptism in Chesapeake, VA. My companion then headed, with others, to a baptism in Richmond. I spent the day with another missionary, who is also into computers and web design. We had a good day. At one of the appointments we had that night, I saw the biggest cat I have ever seen. It is 20-30 lbs. It was interesting. After that we did some biking and found an awesome guy. Through our conversation, his heart softened and some good things happened. At the end of our conversation, he gave us some turkey drums, which tasted pretty good. Due to travel time from Richmond to our neck of the woods, we ended up getting to our trailer after 1 AM and getting to sleep around 2 AM. Anyway, it has been a very busy, but good week. We have three people currently set for baptism, and more to come. I hope to be here to see some of them. Nonetheless, I am excited for the good things that are going on. Have a wonderful week!
