Leadership Training

As suggested by the title, I went to a Leadership Training Meeting this week. I left Monday evening to go up to Richmond. Over night we stayed with the elders in the Innsbrook ward. The meeting lasted through Friday. Each day we would go to the meeting at 10 AM and finish at 5 PM. It was full of revelation and miracles. After the meeting each day, we would go to areas up there and work with the missionaries to help do more work in their particular area. I was was with the elders in the Glen Allen ward (a biking area; my first time in a biking area on my mission so far). That experience went really well. We had the opportunity to apply the wonderful things we learned at the meeting. One of the miracles seen during the experience involved a roleplay. During one of the days of the meeting, we were roleplaying on committing someone to read the Book of Mormon daily. Though I normally wouldn't have done this, I used 2 Nephi 33:10-11 and explained how reading the book is as if the Savior were standing right there talking to you. The sister who we roleplayed with used it in a lesson that night and committed a less-active who hadn't read the Book of Mormon since baptism to read it daily. That just shows the power of revelation and roleplays. During the meeting I also had the chance to talk to elders I hadn't seen in a long time. On Friday, we started working our way home. Our ride from Richmond had a blowout along the way, but eventually made it to take us most of the way home. Even with the problems, everything worked out alright. We stayed the night with the Deep Creek elders. On Saturday we finished getting home. On Sunday, considering the holiday weekend, a neighboring ward, down on the Outer Banks, apparently had 925 members show up for sacrament meeting. Thats a lot of people. On Monday, due to Memorial Day, we weren't able to email, but we did go to a branch barbecue/picnic. It went well. We made pudding and maple mayonnaise cake for the event. Anyway, I had a wonderful week and hope you did too. Have a wonderful coming week!
