Funnel Cloud
This has been a full week. On Monday we started a potato garden out in front of our trailer. Hopefully that endeavor is profitable. That same day, my companion made a huge pizza for the two of us. It was very good. On Tuesday we knocked on a really cool house. It looks like a castle and is of moderate size. Later that night we finally got to teach an investigator we have been trying to teach for over seven months. The set-back has been due to her constant state of illness, but she decided that she isn't going to let that keep us from meeting with her. On Wednesday, as we were traveling to an appointment, we saw a car stuck in a ditch. The appointment didn't keep, so we went back and helped them. Basically, the right side of the car, just in front of the wheel was resting on a stump, while the wheel was hanging over part of the ditch. We jacked the car up, placed boards under the wheel, then lowered the car onto the boards. From there, the car was able to back up out of its predicament. On Thursday morning, my companion found a tick burrowing into his skin. Via peanut butter he got it out and disposed of it. That same day we had a huge storm come through. There were tornado warnings and we think we saw the funnel cloud that formed in the upper part of our area. Im not sure if any tornados actually touched down in our area, though they may have. Still, we made it through the storm just fine, aside from all the pouring water soaking through my clothes and such. I did hear that the same storm killed over 300 people (2/3 of such in a city in Alabama). On Friday we went on exchanges with the Elizabeth City elders. My companion went with one to a doctors appointment, while I remained with the other to work in the area. After they got back from the doctors appointment and we headed back to our area, we had an awesome first lesson with an awesome investigator. We hope to see some good progress with her. On Saturday we borrowed a members lawn mower and cut our grass (at the request of our landlord). We would have cut the grass Monday, but the lawn mower we have is broken. Anyway, that day was a good day for getting and contacting referrals. Hopefully we will see some success with some of them. Sunday, me and my companion taught out of Preach My Gospel for the Elders Quorum lesson. It went well. This week has been very good for lessons, compared to the rest of my time here. I think things are on the upside. I look forward to more success. Have a wonderful week!
