A lot has happened this past week. I don't have a ton of time to elaborate, but here goes:
On Monday I got a package from home (thanks family =D). I got lots of food in it. Coupled with the food I already have and the member dinners, I am pretty well covered for the rest of the transfer. I have been fed better in this area than any other. Its crazy. At least I get to do more biking though.
Things with the work have also gone pretty well in some respects. A new investigator couple, Netasha & Polo, even fed us dinner a few days ago. I have heard that when such a thing happens, it usually means they're pretty solid. Anyway, they are doing well. We also got a long time investigator, Louise, to come to church for her second time. Also, we have found a couple members that aren't even on the roster. One of which was because we planned to bike to a street and do finding. It turned out to be a really, really long dirt-road/driveway to a less-active members house. With member work, we have really been trying to get members involved with the new mormon.org. In one such lesson, the members took pictures of us showing them around the site and put them on facebook. I have also given a couple blessings this week to members.
On Thursday we had a pretty good district meeting. After that we went to a place called Buffalo Wild Wings. All six of us did the Blazin Wing Challenge (12 of their hottest wings in 6 minutes). We all survived, but, as the shirt we got says, "its like walking on hot coals, except you eat em." That was an interesting and unpleasant experience, but now I have bragging rights.
On Friday night we went on exchanges with the Bayside elders. Elder Lesueur became my companion for a day (this is his first transfer in the field). Among that day, we spent a lot of time helping someone who was getting deployed (Navy) move their stuff into a storage unit. We also did some biking for a while. After that we went to a big investigator-oriented High Priest party at President Thomas's house with a part-member family. Our mission president and his family were there too. We got fed tons, we got to fish off the dock bordering their back yard (Sister Perry even caught a crab). Non-missionaries even got to go out on their boats. It was an awesome event.
Yesterday we went to a Stake Priesthood Meeting. They are now emphasizing the mormon.org push. I hope its happening back home as well. Its a wonderful tool in the work. They also instituted something I have always been used to at home. That is, members cleaning the buildings, rather than the FM Group.
Anyway, a lot has happened. This has been quite a good week. I have certainly enjoyed it.
