My Name Is Earl

In explanation of the title, this past week was the subject of a hurricane. Hurricane Earl was originally supposed to hit us as a category four, but got too soft and weak. I was personally disappointed. I was hoping for the full hurricane experience. Anyway, we didn't even hear about the tropical storm until Tuesday morning, when we went to confirm an appointment with someone. The rainy, windy storm hit us between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Along with our mileage reduction that we recently suffered, we barely made it within our limit (less than a tenth of a mile away from excess). In order to achieve that, we have done a lot more biking this past week. It has been good for me, but I still need to eliminate some of my food intake. For such a purpose, I bought a bunch of salad for the coming week. Hopefully that helps.

Service wise, we have helped with several move-outs and move-ins. Several of them were non-members.

Wednesday was an interesting day. First, we were headed out on our bikes and a not-so-cool thing happened. We were riding on a narrow side-walk and someone was coming the other way. Our handle-bars caught and both of us came off our bikes. I caught myself on my feet, but the other person didn't. She was angry, but at least she didn't really get injured. Anyway, that was an unfortunate experience. Hopefully it isn't repeated.

This week has also brought several angry-people situations. The first of which was when stopping by the place a less-active lady lived. A guy was walking around his car and when we got his attention he really got mad. He told us that he was non a member, that he was sick of all of our paraphenalia, and demanded that we get off his property. That was accompanied by many choice words. The next happened after we tracted a street and left pass-along cards. We got a voicemail from a lady that demanded that we never stop by her house again... or she'll have us arrested. Anyway, I just love these things. Its sad that they are depriving themselves of blessings, but it gives something to laugh about.

On Friday, due to the hurricane, we stayed in for the morning. I read a bunch of Jesus The Christ and ate my several-week-old pineapple. After that we went to Zone Meeting. It was pretty good. It emphasized on the importance of following-up with commitments and daily contact. I enjoyed it. On Saturday we brought an investigator to a baptism, but due to time-constraints, we had to leave before it started. We helped fill the font with 5 gallon drink buckets though.

On Sunday night we got transfer calls. Me and Elder Bangerter are both staying here. I'm excited. It will be a good transfer.

On Monday, as a district, we played Ultimate Frisbee for my first time. It was pretty fun. We also got fed well. After that I got a haircut. Its nice to have short hair again.

Among firsts, this week I have consumed a bunch of Arizonas. They are way good.

In general I am doing pretty good. I lack time, otherwise I would say more.
