To begin, this past week I have had the opportunity to meet and hear from Elder Sybrowsky of the Seventy at our Mission Conference. He had some great stuff to say about improving missionary work. It was very enjoyable. After the conference, we taught one of our investigators, Natasha, whose husband had left her. Apparently he came back. Hopefully things continue to improve with them.
This week has been the subject of much biking. It has been good for me in several respects. One thing that I like about biking is that is provides the opportunity to meet so many people that we would otherwise pass up. The work in general is going fairly well. Some things are less-pleasant, such as some of our progressing investigators not keeping their appointments, but hopefully that changes. We have been able to do a descent bit of work with some less-actives this week. Hopefully it comes of greater profit. Regarding church, we only got one investigator and his girlfriend there. Another went late, but thought it was the wrong place, so they left. They should be coming next week though.
Among interesting events of the past week, our car has been leaking radiator fluid. We will hopefully be getting that fixed soon. We also walked to the big Air Show on the NAS Oceanna Naval Air Base that's right by our apartment. It was a lot of walking, but it was good. We talked to people while walking there, back and between. The show was pretty cool as well. The Blue Angles were doing all sorts of cool maneuvers. We ran into several members, including some from up where my companion and I just came from, who found out information that we were desiring from the missionaries up there. Heading to our dinner appointment after that took an hour with all the traffic though. Also, our Ward Mission Leader is going to soon deploy (Djibouti or something in Africa), leaving us as the ward mission. Hes going to get home when I get home. That's not the most desirable of things, but stuff happens.
Now, I know I talk a lot about it, but it must needs be. I have had some good food experiences this past week. First, I have some chicken wings marinading right now that should make for a great meal later. We also had some of the best spaghetti I have tasted from some awesome members.
This morning, on the way back from the apartment gym, we ended up helping a neighbor fix a flat tire. Anyway, in general, I am still doing pretty good. I look forward to the coming week.
