Some Bitter, Some Sweet

So, this week wasn't as eventful as last week was. There is also a little less time to cover, since last week we had to email on Tuesday, due to holiday delays. Some good and some sad things have happened this week though.

On Wednesday we did a lot of biking. As such, we used no miles on our car. However, the past few days have been huge mile days, so hopefully we can make up for that. Among our biking we passed by an ill-appearing accident. After that we ran into a less-active member. We didn't know that she was a member, but eventually found out. Its crazy how often an occurrence that seems to be for us, but it would be way worse back in Utah. We also found out that one of our investigators husbands abandoned her. That is a sad thing to have happen. Hopefully things improve for her, and hopefully her mother will stop being such an opposition to her meeting with us.

On Thursday we found a source of free cookies. One of the office workers for our apartment complex is a less-active member that wants to become active. She said we could partake of the fresh-baked cookies whenever we want. Anyway, food is always an awesome thing (but at the same time, its not). On Friday we were doing some work in one of the most ghetto parts of this area and we ran across the spanish elders. They then used us to get to and from a referral that we gave them a while ago. Later that day we taught a way awesome, way prepared family that has no religious background and is thirsting after and soaking up everything we teach. They live under us in our apartment complex. Sadly though, on Sunday morning we got our Book of Mormon back and a note saying that they would like to postpone learning until they resolve family issues. Hopefully things come together and we can start teaching them again.

On Saturday we visited a bunch of less-actives more distant from us. It is sad why some people go less-active. The important thing to remaining active is understanding the doctrine, having and maintaining a firm testimony, and not allowing yourself to get offended. Anyway, amidst all that we went to Quiznos for dinner. Its good food, but the price is ridiculous (in my opinion).

On Sunday, we only had one investigator at church. We would have had 3, but our ride fell through, due to not waking up on time. At least we got one of them to the addiction recovery program. Hopefully that does a lot of good for him. Though we had no scheduled lessons, we ended up teaching two. One was a dinner appointment that was set-up in church. The food was way good.

Anyway, my week has been pretty good in general. It is awesome to be part of this work. Hopefully it continues to go well, and improve. I really appreciate all your support.
