Christmas Devotional '11
Last Monday, unfortunately, we got a flat tire on our car. We still made it to the church, where we were going. There we taught an investigator her last lesson and our District Leader interviewed her for baptism. Our District Leader also came with us for the week, since his companion went to a week-long training meeting. On Tuesday, we got the flat tire fixed then did work on Currituck all day, wherein we saw a few less-active members. On Wednesday, we met with the Patriarch and his wife, who are in our ward, and they talked to us for a bit about family history. Later that day we had a really good lesson with the sister of someone who was referred to us and someone she takes care of that just got released from a nursing home. She really felt the spirit and wants to read the Book of Mormon and learn a lot more. On Thursday, we just happened to show up at a former investigators house in time to follow them to their new house and help unpack, as they are moving. On Friday, we had dinner with a member of the bishopric and his wife. After dinner and a lesson, he showed us around his personal computer room. He owns about 15 computers, running Windows 7 and 8 and Ubuntu Linux. His computers are top of the line, many of which with I7 Extreme CPUs. He owns a lot of other really cool technology as well. He uses it all for fun, and he does a lot for the Coast Guard. Its quite a nice set-up. On Saturday, we had a baptism for an unbaptized youth that we taught. It went really well. We had dinner with a member, who invited a less-active family over. It was really cool. On Sunday, we had a really good lesson with one of our investigators, including getting his girlfriend interested in investigating and reading the Book of Mormon. Sunday night we watched the First Presidence Christmas Devotional at a members house. It was really good. I quite like the new Christ-centered videos that are being released on lds.org. My week has been pretty good. I hope you all have a wonderful week and season to focus on Christ.
