Front Page

This has been a full week. On Monday, we met up with other missionaries in our district and had lunch. After that and various other events, I began work on another broken computer for a member. Later that night, we played Corn Hole for Family Home Evening. On Tuesday, we made the program for our investigators baptism on Wednesday. Wednesday morning, we went and helped one of the members set-up a scanner with their laptop. That after noon we filled the baptismal font at our church building and made sure everything was in-line for the baptism. The baptismal service went very well. It was a very spiritual experience. I performed the baptism. On Thursday morning, our Ward Mission Leader inspected our apartment. Not too much later, we headed up to Virginia Beach for transfers. I sent Elder Mason off to his new area and  Elder Wood came back to Elizabeth City. He is originally from Rexburg, Idaho. He and I get along very well. This is his second transfer into the mission, so I will be step-training him. On Saturday, we joined our ward in their service projects for the world-wide Day of Caring, in celebration of the welfare program of the church. We started out with a free car-wash, which had fair turnout (8-10 cars). We then went to the library for the family history project. We helped scan in family history documents, such as family bibles, and we helped people get started on their family history work. There happened to be a newspaper reporter there, which ended up landing a picture of me and one of the members on the front page of The Daily Advance newspaper for today (Monday) in Elizabeth City. The last effort of Saturdays Day of Caring was delivering a freezer and copier to a local charity organization. On Sunday, Elder Wood was given the opportunity to confirm the lady that was baptized on Wednesday a member of the church. Like I began, this has been a full week. I hope you are all doing well. Have a wonderful week!
