Twice In A Row

On Monday, me and Elder Mason went to Applebees for lunch. I haven't ever been there before. It wasn't too bad. On Tuesday we had a Mission Conference. Elder David Evans, the new Seventy over the missionary department, gave some excellent training. Among the things he talked about, he stressed the importance of starting from the beginning of the Book of Mormon with investigators and even personally, he talked about not getting trapped in the routine precedence our trainers or other companions have set, but following the Lord's way in going about his work, and he committed us to seek referrals from absolutely everyone. It was an excellent meeting. On Wednesday, we had a very good meeting with our investigator who is preparing to be baptized this coming Wednesday. She chose me to perform the baptism. Later that day we had some maintenance done on our car (oil change, repair of a nail-pierced tire). That night we had an excellent discussion, for the youth activity, on chapter 9 in Preach My Gospel (which talks about finding investigators). Following that we went on exchanges with our district leader. I went with his companion to Currituck (my last area) and spent the time on Thursday doing some service for an investigator. We helped him split wood with his log splitter, for use this winter. I came away from that with around 60 bugbites, as we forgot to bring bugspray. Thats alright though, it only goes to make for fun times. Later that day we contacted one of our referrals who is really interested in the church. That went really well. On Friday we helped one of our recent converts scrape paint from the outside of his house. Later that day, we did some potentially fruitful finding near the campus of Elizabeth City State University. On Saturday, we helped with an eagle scout project, in which we burrowed wood polls in the ground and mounted bird feeders onto them. Later, we went down to Nags Head to see the baptism of someone I helped teach in Currituck. On Sunday, we got transfer calls. Elder Mason is getting transferred to a place near Richmond with his MTC companion. I am, again, step training. My new companion will be Elder Wood. I am excited, but hopefully I have gotten sufficiently acquainted with the area. Have a wonderful week!
