Spending Some Time Behind Bars

Last Sunday/Monday, I made a Pine-Nanny Cake and some Hamburger Helper for a dinner appointment where we were doing the cooking. However, last minute, that got pushed forward another week, so we ate all of that over the course of the week. I also got some good sewing done on Monday. On Wednesday, I finished a book I borrowed from our church library called Lectures on Faith. It is an excellent book and goes into good detail about faith. I enjoyed it. That day, we also mowed our lawn, as it was in great need. Later that day we found an investigator that is way prepared. She met with missionaries many years ago in Hawaii and felt good about what she was taught, but due to an unfortunate circumstance, she stopped investigating. On Thursday, we had a lot of good appointments. Among such, we visited a less-active member who was recently incarcerated. From our conversation with him, it sounds like he is making some good choices toward repentance, but he will likely still have to spend a bit of time at the county detention center. We also had a good appointment with an investigator, in which I was able to use my skills and help fix a computer he was a somewhat of a loss over. On Friday we had an excellent district meeting, in which I gave a training about faith. It was just us and the sisters in the district (which was necessitated by a situation with the other elders, so we were given permission for such). After the meeting we got our car inspected. That evening, we went to a baptism for someone in Elizabeth City I, at one point, had the opportunity of teaching. His whole investigation process was miraculous. Saturday evening and Sunday morning we attended the adult and general sessions of Stake Conference. Both were very good. Sunday night, we got transfer calls. I am staying another transfer (making seven transfers, or six week periods, in one area). My new companion will be Elder Narramore. Elder DeMaggio is going to Oak Grove, outside of Richmond. After that, in preparation for the rescheduled dinner appointment I talked about at first, I made another Pine-Nanny Cake. Today, we dug up and ate the potatoes we were growing in our front yard. Anyway, this has been a good week. I look forward to what lies ahead. Have a wonderful week!
