Opposition Before Blessings
This week has been interesting. We had lots of opposition, but we have seen miracles follow. On Tuesday we did some biking. Among that we had the opportunity to give a blessing to a less-active. On Wednesday, found another tick on me, which I removed. On Thursday we had a Mission Conference. Due to our ride up to Virginia Beach, we got to the building way early. My companion and another elder played some intense basketball and got all sweaty and stinky before the event. They cleaned up though. After that we helped set-up for lunch. The Relief Society from my last area helped with providing lunch for the event. Due to that, I got to meet some people I haven't seen in almost a year. After the wonderful meeting, we were shown a compilation-video of all the missionaries in the mission with their baby pictures. After making it home from the meeting, we had a big very southern meal with some awesome members. It was good. On Saturday, we went by the house of a former investigator who was entrenched in all sorts of anti-mormon literature. It was sad to see how thoroughly against what we had to say they were. I only hope they will seek to take it before the Lord in earnest prayer. On Sunday, though we experienced a lot of opposition throughout the week, we saw some miracles, which included: a less-active family, who hadn't been to church in at least a year, showed up at church; finding out that one of our members introduced the powerful work "Articles of Faith" by Talmage to a former investigator who would thrive on it; and lastly, an investigator we wouldn't expect finished smoking. It has been a good week in many regards.
