This has been a seemingly more packed week than some. Its been pretty good though. On Monday I, as a once-in-a-mission activity, spent too much p-day time in the labor of pumpkin. I prepared and engulfed much of the squash. It was decently good though. Among other events of that day, we found out that we should soon be getting another Ward Mission Leader (which is a very helpful thing to have), since our current one will be departing for a bit.
On Tuesday, we had blessing opportunities. We blessed some returning less-actives. It was a pretty spiritual experience (and we later found out that it was of miraculous profit in the healing of the husbands injured foot). On Wednesday, we got a referral for someone on Knotts Island, NC. That is part of our area, but its almost 30 miles away, which isn't the best thing for limited miles. Sadly though, his wife isn't so happy with the idea of meeting with us. Later that night some Youth Communications Ministers from some church came to our door and tried to use their mad skillz on me, but I turned it into an opportunity to share our beliefs.
On Thursday we had District Meeting. It was pretty good. We also got to wear party hats during that. Hopefully we get cake next time. Thursday was also the day that the brunt of the tropical depression hit. There was some pretty intense rain for several days from that. On Friday, helped our bishops family load their possessions up in pods. We also spent a lot of time that day trying to get rides set-up for getting people to General Conference. It was a pain. Among that, we got a ride for someone that moved into our ward the day before. He is a recent convert of two weeks, which means we now have a recent convert that is not a do-not-contact.
Saturday and Sunday we watched General Conference. It was really good. The worst part of it is that I have been sick (possibly something viral) for the last few days. It really hasn't been the most pleasant, but its (as of now) starting to subside. We ate pretty well amongst sessions of conference. On Saturday, for lunch, I ate a San Jose Burrito from a place called Azteca. Before priesthood session we had a stake barbecue. On Sunday, between sessions, a member brought us some really good, yet healthy food. Later that night we were doing some finding and some guy, that's in the military, insisted on giving us some of his military swag to cover us from the rain. Among that he gave us some kind of ninja-like head covering. Me and Elder Bangerter had fun with those.
Anyway, things are going pretty well for me at the moment. I appreciate all of your support. General Conference was packed with goodness. I encourage all of you to review it and apply it. Now off to another interesting week for me.
