So, last week I talked about Manna From Heaven, or the person who called us up that is ready for baptism. We have found out just how awesome they are. We have had some awesome teaching opportunities this week with them. They're so ready to be baptized.
Anyway, starting with Monday, after emails, we helped a family in the ward move some stuff and they fed us some really good food. They then drove us to the Stake Center for our Zone P-day. Then, later that night, Odell had his baptismal interview. That went well. On Tuesday we had 6 out of 7 lessons keep. Among that we ate cake (that we made) with Natasha, an investigator, for her birthday. On Wednesday we had 8 of 8 lessons keep. So we spent a couple days without any tracting. That was pretty cool, but exhausting.
On Thursday we had our quarterly interviews with President Perry. That went well. Among our travel that day we listened to an awesome talk called The Meaning Of The Atonement, by Elder W. Cleon Skousen, which gets into all sorts of delicious deep doctrine. Its very interesting. After interviews we went and set up for the baptism of Odell. We had several investigators there and the service went really well. I gave a talk on the doctrine of Christ, which I was told went very well, by an investigator. Later that night we struggled getting to sleep, due to several paramedics, several ambulances, and 5 or so squad cars at the apartment across the street. I'm still not sure what that was about.
On Friday we had a lesson with a less-active that was found by the spanish elders in a trailer park. It went pretty well. The lesson was at Starbucks. After that, me and Elder Bangerter got Vanilla Bean Frapachinos, like I have had before, which are pretty good. On Saturday we spent a good amount of time at Bishop Gatewood's house, helping to put cabinets up, in place of the ones we helped take down. After that we got fed curry on rice, as well as bread pudding, by an awesome member. Later that night we were doing some local work and tracted into a wicken. That's the second one on my mission. They are an interesting people.
On Sunday we had a whole lot of people at church, which was awesome, but stressful. We also confirmed Odell as a member. After church we helped open the shed in back for someone. In closing it I smashed my finger. Its swollen, bruised and painful, but it will be alright in a week or so. Its nothing to worry about, though it does make typing this blog entry a bit slower. Later that night we had a way awesome lesson with the Clement family. Aside from introducing them to the new mormon.org, we did, for the first time yet, roleplays with members. It went quite well. Finally, that night we got transfer calls. I am going down to Currituck, North Carolina. My new companion is going to be Elder Hicks. From what I hear, its going to be a definite growing experience. Hopefully all goes well with that, as well as my current area.
