Currituck, Oh So Great And Spacious

Monday, I didn't have to do much shopping, due to transfers. On Tuesday and Wednesday I gave many farewells to so many awesome investigators. Apparently I will be missed. On Wednesday, we gave a blessing to Sister Vuittonet, someone in the ward that we have been working with. On Thursday I had to consume way more food than I wanted to, as to not waste it. I seem to collect a lot of food over my time in an area, yet I never have the financial struggles a lot of missionaries seem to. Anyway, we got a ride to transfers with our way awesome investigator, Brother Johnson. After talking to a few missionaries there, me and my new companion, Elder Higgs (not Elder Hicks, as I said in my last email), headed down to North Carolina. After some hours of travel we got to our trailer and I unpacked for a while. Also, even though I am junior companion, I drive. Being a very country area, I have come to love cruise control. The Currituck area is quite large. It will be interesting serving here. At first I thought of it as an exile (living conditions, distance to anything, and the state of the work), but now I am seeing how the Lord had his hand in this, in His infinite wisdom. This is simply the next step in my growth in his service. Its merely another testimony of his love and care for me. Hopefully all goes well with this transfer.

On Friday I saw the Albemarle Sound, which surrounds our area. Its a really cool view. On Thursday, we also went to Food Lion to shop. In this area we apparently shop when we are in the area, since the store is so far away. On Saturday I finally finished reading Jesus The Christ. It is an amazing, enthralling book. I suggest it to everyone. Later that day, among visiting people, our car battery died. We had to have a member come and jump the car. After spending a few minutes at his house, he jumped the car again and we went on our way to Elizabeth City, NC, to have the dead battery replaced. That was kind of a monkey wrench in some of the days plans, but stuff happens.

On Sunday I got to meet a bunch of really awesome members of our branch. It is interesting being in a branch for my first time. Hopefully my time in this area continues to go well. I look forward to it.
