Transferred

This last week has had a lot happen in it. On Monday, we found that one of our investigators nephews (and to a degree, them) were threatened with their lives by a member of a gang. Now the police are involved, so hopefully things clear up.

Tuesday was the beginning of a three day meeting in Richmond for every missionary in a leadership position (with the expectation that areas don't die off). That meant that many missionaries had to do exchanges with ward members for those days. Me and Elder Gill went zebra (ie. english and spanish elders mixed) at points throughout that. Among that, we did spanish study with Elder Wiles. Elder Allan came back from that with all sorts of stuff that we will need to start applying to improve missionary work. Our mission is one of three that is piloting this new teaching method. We are eventually going to be teaching in like eight simple steps (as I hear). I look forward to the change.

So, this week has brought many new experiences and quite a few new bug bites. Mosquitoes are everywhere. Its way annoying. Maybe it has something to do with all the heat and humidity. We have had to deal with way high temperatures this past weekend. We even got a heat advisory from the mission office. Anyway, I really hope it cools down soon. I anxiously await winter.

Among our events this past week we helped another person move. On Saturday, our stake had a Pioneer Day celebration. We went for a little bit. The food was pretty good. After that we went to check up on a less-active and I got to use my mad skillz and help get some cable wiring fixed so they could watch TV. On Sunday we went to a recent convert's house and she fed us lots of food. It was great.

Now, I have neglected talking about our investigators, so here it is in brief. We still have some upcoming baptisms expected, so hopefully that goes well. We have taught some good lessons this past week and hope to get some people progressing towards baptism soon. It is great to see people change.

Finally to explain the title. As suggested, I am getting transferred, so I won't witness the upcoming goodness. I will be going down to Virginia Beach, in the Tidewater region, to a city called Sandbridge. I will be companions with Elder Bangerter (my current district leader; from South Jordan, Utah). He is pretty cool. We will be shotgunning and area (ie. replacing the previous companionship completely). It will be (as I hear) by the beach. This will be my first time ever seeing the ocean in person. Hopefully all goes well. It will definitely be sad leaving Charlottesville. I have come to thoroughly love this area, the people in it, our ward, and our investigators. I guess Ill have to just do the same there. Hopefully all goes well. Prayers in my behalf might be good too.

Now, I have a ton to go home and do (packing and such), so I bid you all farewell for now.
