Coming Baptism

This coming Saturday we have a baptism for Jerome Harris. Hes awesome. Hes been doing all the things a member of the church would be doing (even home teaching), but he just hasn't been baptized. I look forward to the baptism. It will be the second one for me.

So, this past Friday was mission conference. Getting rides to and from was plenty difficult, but things worked out. President Perry is pretty cool. He was telling us all about his massive abundance of interactions with the apostles, since he was in the 5th quorum of the seventy (if I remember correctly). His family is also pretty cool. After the conference we got a picture and then he was talking to us about how many moms hammered him with messages and such on Facebook before he came out. Among things he talked about during the conference, we are apparently soon going to be piloting something with taking Preach My Gospel to the next level. Also, my companions mom's brother's wife said that something is in the works where missionaries may be getting laptops and getting involved with online means of talking with investigators and such. Im not sure of the details, but we shall see.

Among affairs with investigators this week, Sarah is no longer set for baptism. She definitely knows the church is true, but is reluctant to commit to baptism. We will be working through that problem, but more prayers always help. We also have an awesome new investigator named Kim, who has a lot going on in her life. She is in so great a need for this gospel at this time.

This past week we tracted into a person that really admires the church and even invited us in to talk for a while. He even said that if a gun was held to his head and he was required to join a church, it would be ours. I hope he is more willing to continue learning about it. We will probably follow up with that in the next week or two. Hopefully he will start investigating. Another day we tracted into a Minister. We had a very interesting conversation about grace vs. works, but he was quite closed to things, so it didn't really go anywhere.

Yesterday before Jerome's baptismal interview we went to Arby's. It been way too long since I have been able to eat there. It was pretty good. I really need to start dieting though. At least I haven't been gaining as much weight as I was. Hopefully things improve in that respect.

This past week we found out that our preparation day is changing to Monday. I personally liked Wednesdays better, but its happening so I might as well look at it positively.

Until Monday, bye!!!
