Oh The Horror

So, as indicated by the title, some interesting stuff happened this week. One day (Thursday, in fact) all was good at first. The sun was out and we were finding people. We then decided to head home. On our way driving, the whole city of Charlottesville got hit by a powerful storm. Our car got slammed with gail-force, hurricane-style winds and rain. We later found out it was called a tropical storm, or micro burst. It took down a lot of trees and power lines. Our power was out for 18 hours, but some peoples power was only recently restored. It took out power for the whole city for quite some time. As we went around serving that evening, we saw one house that had a tree fall into it (but luckily the house was brick, leaving only the roof destroyed). There were several cars that got crushed. It was an intense storm.

On Friday we had district meeting. I gave another training. This time it was on following-up and its importance when committing people. It went great. I have now been able to give three of those, and I have come to enjoy it (unlike at first). They help my to improve (not just others).

So, this past week we were doing some finding. Of experinces, one was quite hilarious. We knocked on someones door and as soon as she opened the door, she exclaimed the more profane version of "Oh [crap]!". Thats a first.

We have had quite a few lessons this past week. Yesterday we had 7 appointments scheduled, 6 kept (way better than the keep-ratio last Friday). One of our investigators thats preparing for baptism actually brought her friend to her lesson to start learning. Its going great. However, as good news isn't all I have, a couple of our investigators will moving out-of-state. One of which is because of a bad situation going on with the family (the same one that I have talked about being so golden before). On top of that, our last lesson was abruptly interrupted by a call that her brother was being rushed to the hospital. It is a sad ordeal. Anyway, for the most part, things are going quite well with the work.

Also of mention, our mission president is now officially President James C. Perry.

Until next week, I bid you all adiau.
