This past week we have had some violent rain storms (paired with lightening). One of them knocked down lots of trees throughout Charlottesville and left lots of people without power (not us though). I guess thats just how Virginia is though.
I suppose its about time I talk a bit more about the work. We have a few pretty solid investigators. Two of them are about ready to set baptismal dates (one of them is going out of town for 6 weeks, but is still about ready). We also have a family that we found, that said we were an answer to their prayers (did I already mention them before?!). They really enjoyed coming to church this past Sunday (it was the first time to any church for the guy). I think they are pretty solid.
We got fed a few times this past week by members. One of the members here, who programs, and who I have seen posts by on the LDSTech forums before my mission, fed us and gave us cake. It was quite good. An awesome family that used to live in Utah (next to President Monson) also fed us. On Sunday we were fed by a family thats doing a lot for the work. They also had us teach some of their russian friends. The people here are just so awesome. I love it.
Yesterday we had our last mission conference with President Millburn before he heads back home to Utah. It was by far one of the most powerful things for me spiritually and in the work. The spirit was way present and the things that were taught were so powerful. I am striving to apply what was learned. Hopefully that continues. President Millburn is such an inspired man. I definitely want to keep in contact with him after my mission. As a side-note, I heard he owns a large portion of the apartments (if I remember correctly) in Salt Lake City.
One thing I have to say: I LOVE missions. They are the greatest and most powerful experiences of a lifetime. I have grown more out here that I probably ever would have at home. I hope you all continue to read the scriptures (especially the Book of Mormon) with diligence, pray sincerely to know of its truthfulness, and apply the things you learn to your lives on a continual basis. If you do that, I can assure that, as 2 Nephi 31:19-21 says, "You shall have eternal life."
For another week, I bid you all adieu (unless I get mail). Never let yourself fall. I love you. I know this church is true. Stay strong.
