Huli Huli!
On Monday, we went over to a members house for a preemptive thanksgiving meal. It was very good and very filling. On Tuesday, I gave Elder Herron a good, reasonably thorough introduction to the area and the people. Later that night, we met with the Ward Mission Leader and went over a few things to help the ward in their missionary endeavors. On Wednesday we had dinner with the Ward Clerk and discussed many more things in relation to helping the ward. On Thursday, after one of our appointments, we helped with some of the set-up of the church for Fridays event. On Friday, after a wonderful Zone Meeting, I made an onion/rice/chicken/cheese casterole and we brought it to the event that night. The event was a missionary-oriented pot-luck dinner. Everyone in the ward was strongly encouraged to invite friends and neighbors to the pot-luck dinner. It was kept as a pretty relaxed atmosphere. There was actually quite a good non-member attendance. Hopefully we can make this a continuing effort. On Saturday, we did some good service for a less-active member. We helped him put up hardy plank on the walls for the side entrance of his house. After that we attended a child-of-record baptism we were invited to, which was really good. We then found a solid, interested hispanic guy. Later that night we had a very good dinner with a member of some hawaiian huli huli chicken. It was amazing. On Sunday, Elder Herron gave a talk in Sacrament Meeting. It was good. I will be giving one next week. I am doing quite well. I hope you are! Have a most excellent week!
