Record Beat!

On Tuesday we had a crazy thunder storm with moderate gale-force winds. It was pretty intense, but cool. We also stopped by a potential investigator who, contrary to the majority, actually looked over mormon.org and the pamphlets we left. On the way to/from that island where she lives, the albemarle sound was very swollen, even covering parts of the edge of the road. Later we went to visit a less-active and found a lobster walking down their driveway (an interesting and unexpected find). That night we went to a very spiritual baptism for someone in Elizabeth City. Even though she had to be dunked three times, the whole meeting was filled with the Spirit. Afterward we ate a cool cake in the shape of open scriptures. On Wednesday I picked up the Easter package my family sent.Later that day we heard the federal government might be shutting down this weekend, then we later had cleared up that it has happened before and that it isn't as big as how it was presented to us. On Thursday we had a dinner appointment with a member wherein we had a waffle eating contest. The past record for the most full-size Belgian waffles eaten was 3. I ate 4 & 1/2. On Saturday we found an awesome new investigator in our trailer park. When we went to the door, the kid opened up and said "come in guests!" His dad then said we could come in and he, as we talked, had a change of countenance. It was pretty sweet. Yesterday we got another stocking of food from a couple awesome members. We also had the opportunity of talking with our investigator who has basically moved up to Virginia, but was still working on things with the house they are trying to sale. Anyway, it has been a good week. I hope you are all well. Have a wonderful week!
