Elizabeth City

Last Monday I packed and headed to spend the week with the Elizabeth City missionaries. My companion headed up to the leadership meeting that lasted most of the week. One reason, among many, that the Elizabeth City Elders were glad to have me is because I ate a bunch of deserts that they have been given and haven't had the desire to get eaten. Between Monday and the following days I ate, among other things, a pistachio pie and a piece of red velvet cake. On Tuesday, for dinner, we went to a place called Pizza Inn. After that we went to the church and had a basketball game with a bunch of nonmembers. My lack of skill was shown in that I was chosen to be out for 2 of the 4 games. It doesn't bother me though, as I'm really not much of a sports person. On Wednesday we had some good lessons. One was with an investigator, who was originally found in a miraculous, inspirational manner, that is now set for baptism. Another was with a pastor that has been being taught for a while. And another was with an awesome member who is, as I am, a strong Linux advocate. We had some good conversation, which went over the heads of all others listening.

On Thursday we went to Office Max so the Elizabeth City Elders could get supplies to work on their area book. While there we had some fun writing mormon.org and accompanying messages on all the provided, pen-testing, scratch paper. We then spent some good time working on area books. On Friday we sang, with a ukulele, for quite a while for an investigator. Later that night we went to basketball and softball games for investigators. After that we went back to Currituck, my companion got back, and the Elizabeth City Elders stayed the night. On Saturday we worked on our mormon.org signs. On Sunday we went to the birthday party for a recent convert/investigator couple's daughter. In all, it was a good week. I look forward to an even better one.
