Tired And Groggy

Last Monday, after emailing, I took upon myself the task of making a triple recipe of peanut butter cookies. The lasted until Saturday. They were very good though. With all the peanut butter our members keep giving us, its a good outlet. On Tuesday we had an excellent lesson with an investigator, wherein I used my line-of-authority to help them understand the need to be baptized by proper authority. On Wednesday we had an excellent lesson with one of our less-active members, using Bruce R. McConkey's last talk, about the atonement. That seemed to have some impact. Our car fast day was changed to the second Thursday of the Month, where it was the second Wednesday before. That day was very rainy for us. We did work around our trailer park. We also used some of the day to work on some mormon.org signs we plan to set-up at various places on the main roads of our area. When we get finished with the signs, hopefully they will be of profit.

On Friday, our Branch President took us and the elders from Elizabeth City down to the church building in the Outer Banks. We then had an excellent district meeting of great help to each area (one thing we want to start working with, as talked about in Preach My Gospel, is family history). We plan to start using that as a district-wide tool in missionary work. After the meeting we had lunch at a place called The Black Pelican. Later that night we had dinner with an awesome family, which was quite filling. We then heard about the huge earthquake in Japan. It sounded like it left the country in shambles. Hopefully they will be able to rebuild. That just shows that the last-day prophecies are being fulfilled in full.

On Saturday we woke up to no water. It slowly came back though, so it was alright. Later that night we went to the funeral of our beloved friend and recent convert. I felt my prayers answered, as it wasn't a sad occasion for me. The plan of salvation is such a powerful things. During the refreshments, after the funeral, someone said they were interested in learning about our church, as the talk of our Branch President lifted burdens she has felt all her life with wrong doctrines she has been taught. Its pretty sweet how the truth can affect a person. Lastly, daylight savings was very tiring. My sleep was all too short and I was left drained throughout the day yesterday. That's alright though, Ill adjust.
