Snow Day!!!

So, that deer meat I was talking about last week was extremely wild. Maybe we didn't prepare it correctly, but it wasn't the most pleasant to take in. Later Monday night we had to count every usable supply we possessed and report it to our leaders. It was quite a task. On Tuesday I got a couple packages from home containing Christmas items. I am excited to unwrap those. On Wednesday morning I baked the cinnamon crumb cake my family sent a few weeks ago. Later that day, amongst the work, we passed by a big fire. Apparently somebodies barn caught on fire. Hopefully their Christmas presents weren't hidden in there. Later that day we had some appointments fall through. Still though, we were able to teach the person that would have gone with us to one of the appointments. Among that I finally, in answering the members question, came to understand what I was previously confused about with Doctrine and Covenants, Section 13.

Then, on Thursday, we were on our way to District Meeting when we were told that it was canceled. After talking with our District Leader, we decided to still go ahead with it, since we were most of the way there. It was a good meeting, and I shared my cinnamon crumb cake with the district. On the way from the slightly cut-short meeting, the snow started coming down heavy and fast. By the time we got back there was a goodly amount of snow. We were told to stay in the rest of the day. This was my first snow day so far. During my time inside I did some studying and such. On Friday I picked up, due to donated funds, the ingredients for pizza loaves, which I will be making today. Later that day Elder Higgs gave our recent convert, Jacky, $50 worth of food, which purpose his parents gave him funds for. We then served her for a while, helping her set-up some Christmas decorations and put stabilizer in her lawn mower and weed eater. Later that night we went to a Christmas program at the Jarvisburg Church of Christ, as we were invited by someone to do so. That was my first time ever in another church. It was interesting. I still like our Christmas music programs better.

On Saturday, amongst our travels I had to drive on some of the worst quality paved roads I have seen yet. There were huge ditches and pot holes everywhere. Later that night we parked to go do some finding and a police officer pulled up and checked my ID. Apparently that was as a result of all the break and enters that have been happening in that neighborhood. It was all good though. After finding that we were missionaries and such, he wished us luck and sent us on our way. On Sunday, in church, the Stake Addiction Recovery class teachers presented the class. It sounds like a very good class. Its not even just for the usual things, but also for forming or breaking minor habits.

On Christmas we have two (or more if we desired) places to go. I wish all you the best, especially during this season. Remember what Christmas is all about. I love you all!
