Leaving Home... Again!

Last Monday, I finally got my bike ready and shipped it home. Later
that day, I worked out a basic recipe for my own, home-made barbecue
sauce. It still needs some refining, but I'm liking it so far. Also
that day, we got a few things organized for the baptism this weekend.
On Tuesday morning I got a few packages shipped home, as to make
packing to go home easier. I definitely made use of the flat-rate
boxes, with one package being more than 16 pounds. After that we went
to Dragon Buffet for my last time. I got quite full from that. Later
that night, we went to the church and my companion played basketball
with a group of members and non-members. This time, there were upwards
of 25 people that showed-up to play. During that, our investigator and
our District Leader arrived and had a baptismal interview. In the
mean-time, I caught-up with a member from Currituck that gave our
District Leader a ride. On Wednesday, we did a lot of service for a
family in the ward. We helped out at their house and on the farm.
Among other things, we helped put up some blinds, feed the horses, and
move a desk. Later that night, we went with a member to dinner at a
place called Tony's Pizzaria. I had a sub-sandwich and got pushed into
getting some cheesecake. It was good cheesecake, but it was way bigger
that I had expected it to be. That night, we gave our Bishop a
blessing, then went and visited another member that was in the
hospital and gave him a blessing. On Thursday, we had a wonderful
District Meeting, then went to lunch at Frog Island. After that we
stopped by the Currituck elders trailer and, among things, I tried
plain molasses. It is actually quite good. After getting back to
Elizabeth City, we met with a recent convert and did some service for
him. After that we went and taught an awesome investigator that will
hopefully soon have a baptismal date. That night we had a very good
lesson with another investigator and set him with a baptismal date. On
Friday, we had lunch at a real sushi place right next to our
apartment, called Toyama. We got the Hollywood Boxes. Thats my first
time eating a whole meal with chopsticks. Among sushi, we had
California Rolls and Shrimp Tempura. That experience gave me a whole
new view of sushi. It was excellent. Later that night, after a lesson
with an investigator at a members house, the member took us and the
investigator to briefly tour the Coast Guard base, including going
inside the airplanes he flies. On Saturday, we had an excellent
baptismal service for one of our investigators. That night we had
dinner at Quality Seafood. On Sunday, the person that got baptized on
Saturday was confirmed a member by my companion. Also, our bishopric
was changed out during Sacrament Meeting. The new bishopric will
accomplish a lot. Throughout church I said farewell to a whole lot of
people. Later that night, after a dinner appointment, we went to the
house of one of the new bishopric members and had pancakes and
smoothies. We then got transfer calls and my companion found out who
his new companion will be. So, this has been a super busy, super good
week! I am thoroughly going to miss being a missionary and serving in
this area. Its for that very reason that I titled this blog entry as I
did. I will, however, look forward to seeing you all soon!
